What a Lenten journey this has been. We will never forget Lent 2020. The COVID-19 Pandemic, cancellation of Masses. This has really opened my eyes how we can take the little things in Life for granted. Don’t you miss Msgr. Bill greeting us? The Choir, Liz and her great music. Rod and his smiling face, and least I forget Mona yelling at me telling me to get my act together. In the Gospel of John “One thing I ask of the Lord, this I seek to dwell in the House of the Lord ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE. How fittings is that right now? I am truly missing the House of our Lord. What a Glorious day that will be when we are all back together.
But you know what, we will appreciate everything twice as much when we gather again. I had to cancel the Knights M I Drive ( AKA TOOTSIE ROLL DRIVE) to keep everyone safe and their Families. We now have 2,700 Tootsie rolls to be delivered, make a donation to the Knights for Pine Grove Learning Center and your Grand Knight will deliver them to your house. Hopefully we can do the Drive in late April or May. Thanks for all the Families that had Volunteered to help, I will get back to you soon.
This last Thursday I was so lucky to help Matt Byrne, Jake Berzkalns, Steve Klaubo and Andy Hubert deliver $1,500.00 worth of Diapers and supplies plus $500.00 from our Council to the HELP PREGNANCY CRISIS CENTER. Paula Veneklase greeted us with open arms. This Clinic does amazing and wonderful things to help Youth Women and Families in meeting some of their needs. Great jobs GUYS! After that we came back to the Hall and boxed 40 care packages for our active Military Men & Women that were sent out. Thank you to all the Military and Veterans in our St Sebastian Family. GOD BLESS YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.
While everyone is off work and doing spring cleaning, please remember to fill the Knights Clothing bins located in the parking lot on the south side of the Parish Hall. The clothes go to many Families in need. THANK YOU!
In my readings this week a couple of verses really touched me and gave me comfort in these Pandemic times. In the book of Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not for I am with YOU…” Things are really terrible in the World right now. We are in good hands with Our Lord. Trust in him. In 1 John 5:12, “Whoever possess the Son has life; whoever does not possess the Son of God does not have life.” WHAT MORE COULD WE NEED? My Prayer for you this week is, God, you are as a shield before us, as a haven of Light in the darkness. Hold us close, that the evils that stalk this world may never touch us. Please be safe and well. God is in control and will watch over us and keep us SAFE in his arms.
