Knights Knews – 8/11/19

WOWWER!!! If you missed the St Sebastian Picnic, you missed a rip roaring time. The food, fellowship & fun never ENDED!!! It truly was a great time. Our Young Adult Worship Band, and the Alter Boys Band played until almost 3:00pm. Dee Jay the Clown was wonderful, he put such a smile on the little ones and just about everyone. I can’t thank Steve Klaubo & Matt Schwedler enough for putting this HUGE EVENT together. The Knights had over 55 guys work this weekend to pull this off. But I thank EVERYONE for coming out and enjoying our parish family. There was something for everyone no matter what age. A special Thanks to the Tomlinson’s family for doing the kids games. The Knights are so honored to be able to give back to our Church. A special thanks to Msgr. Bill; I had asked him to do a special prayer on the weather. About 3:30 pm it poured & poured. He did a great job with the big guy in heaven holding off the rain. It’s so funny, it’s like God said, “Don’t forget I have your back. I gave you a beautiful sunny day.” The Knights will start to work on next year’s event soon.

Now we will switch gears and the Knights will be pushing the Silent Auction on Saturday, October 12. This is OUR BIGGEST FUND RAISER. I hate to ask & beg, but this helps fund a lot of our events we Sponsor and our charity giving. So please, if you can, donate a Gift Basket, Gift Cards, or any service like Fall Lawn Clean-Up. PLEASE, PLEASE let me know. If you want to make it easy we accept checks as well. We will go buy whatever you want to donate!!!!! Our goal is $25,000, and the monies will go to Our Shepherds Our Future Campaign for the Seminarians and other Knight’s Charities. The amounts will be determined by how much we raise. So please donate or attend. Tickets are now on sale after every Mass. Please attend if at all possible!

Msgr Bill’s message last weekend was so AWESOME!!!! How many times do we need the nicest car?? The biggest House?? That big old Barn?? The latest new IPhone?? Our life on this Earth is so short. One of my favorite verses in the Bible says “only WHAT’S DONE FOR CHRIST WILL LAST!!! The Kingdom of God is FOREVER!! We will leave all our nice toys behind here, but we can build a stock pile of deeds and good works in HEAVEN!!!! God Bless each & everyone one of our St Sebastian Family.
